Description:
Butyl Gasket is a high-quality gray/black butyl gasket tape. It is designed for use with duct connection systems. It is non-curing and adheres extremely well to metal surfaces. It can be used to insulate irregular surfaces like fittings and valves.
Standard Construction:
3/16″ x 5/8″ x 25″ of butyl tape extruded onto smooth silicone release paper and rolled onto a cardboard core.
Basic Use:
Apply in normal dry working conditions. All surfaces need to be free of dust, dirt, oil, moisture, grease, etc.
Apply directly from the roll or cut to size with a knife or scissors. Press Butyl Gasket firmly into place with your hand. Intimate contact must be made between the tape and the subsurface to assure an air-tight seal. Gently peel off the silicone release paper. When lapping the tape, allow at least 1/4″ (6.4 mm) overlap.
